Intro to Visuals & Visual Schedules was designed to assist Classroom Educators in implementing the use of visuals within their classroom, for use throughout the day, to increase the ability for students to access their academic and social experiences while at school. This looks like increased engagement during whole and small group activities and increased language exposure and enrichment for all students.
 
Intro to Visuals & Visual Schedules can assist in choosing what kind of visuals to implement, or where to start with creating a system to embed these visual supports within your space.
 
This can also be used as a training with new staff, or as a way to educate paraprofessionals, RBTs, BTs, other support staff or parents to the vital role visual supports play.
 
These tips, systems and suggestions come from over 10 years working in Early Childhood, as an Early Childhood Special Educator. Over that time, I have learned a lot regarding implementation, staff training, staff relationships and using interventions and accommodations consistently and with fidelity.
 
My aim it to assist Classroom Educators, Special Educators and Special Service Providers with embedding these visual supports and accommodations within their classrooms, or in others classrooms for those who push-in to serve their caseloads. I have used these resources to support my in-school teams, and district wide to help others implement these best practices and feel confident to use them consistently.
